I see continuous development as essential to good engineering. Outside work, I learn by doing: personal projects that let me apply new concepts—whether in analog/RF IC design, embedded systems, or low‑power electronics—to areas of life I already enjoy.
Grow It
Hydroponics
Why hydroponics? As an engineer, I wanted a more technical growing experience. My goal is to grow vegetables in a highly automated way, and hydroponics is well suited to that: it offers precise control over nutrients, water, and environment, and can significantly increase growing speed compared to soil.
From a practical standpoint, hydroponics also saves space and eliminates the mess of handling large volumes of soil indoors. Soil works fine for house plants that stay put and aren’t harvested, but for food production in a home environment, a clean, controllable hydroponic system is far more suitable.


Feeder
I have a cat—and he’s a mighty eater. With that in mind, I wanted a way to track how much he eats and when. Commercial feeders that read a pet’s microchip and control access per animal exist, but they’re surprisingly expensive. So I decided to build my own, and add a few extra features along the way.
The goal is a low‑cost, embedded system that can identify individual pets, log feeding events, and provide better visibility into eating patterns—without the price tag of off‑the‑shelf solutions.
